Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas is a city of the United States of America, the county seat of Clark in the state of Nevada. It is famous for being the capital of entertainment, shopping and gambling, in rivalry with comparable city of Reno. What is commonly called "Las Vegas" is actually a set of different administrative units: the city of Las Vegas itself, the city of North Las Vegas, the city of Henderson and also a large area "unincorporated" (ie unincorporated town but under the direct management of the county), the area that includes the "Strip", a long way, for the most part straight or slightly curved. On either side of it are many shops, hotels and casinos. The metropolitan area of Las Vegas, which includes all of Clark County, is the fastest growing demographic in the United States: in 2005, according to estimates, was inhabited by about 1,950,000 people. It is about 270.5 miles northeast of Los Angeles. The legalized gambling, availability of alcoholic beverages at any time of day or night and some choice in terms of shows "for adults" (not prostitution that, in Clark County, it is illegal) have brought to Las Vegas the nickname "Sin City" ("Sin City"), but the local administration and the tourism office much prefer "The Entertainment Capital of the World". Along with the economy, the image of the city is growing. This is attested by the fact that, in recent years, has frequently been chosen as the setting for the television series and blockbuster movies.
