curiosity about Christmas

Idle curiosity on Christmas | Strange but true

1) In Poland, Christmas Eve is called the Feast of the Star, and tradition has it that, until it appears in the sky the first star, you do not start dinner.

2) Rudolph, the famous red-nosed reindeer, was created for Montgomery Ward department stores. Rudolph was born in 1939 from an idea of a writer of 34 years (Robert L. May) who were asked to invent a story of Christmas to give to customers of the stores. The chain offered, in fact, every year the coloring. But that year he decided to save money, instead of buying them ready-made, self-produrseli. And the reindeer Rudolph became the most beloved.

3) Every year at Christmas, in North America are cut about 40 million Christmas trees.

4) The song by Bing Crosby White Christmas of 1942 is still the best selling Christmas song in the world.
