PETRUS ROMANUS: THE POPE AND FINAL 'HERE

Did the Pope Benedict XVI line his successor and then resign to make a 900-year-old prophecy that

the next head of the Roman Catholic Church would be history "final pope?"

The idea has been asked by Tom Horn, co-author of the book "Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope is

here."

As WND reported, Horn and his co-author, Cris Putnam, accurately predicted Benedict would

become the first pope in nearly 600 years to resign.

Horn believes the last pope, called "Petrus Romanus" in the prophecy of St. Malachy Irish

archbishop, could be the man who is set to assume the interim leadership of the moment Benedict

resigns February 28 at 08:00 local time, becoming the acting Vatican's head of state.

The centers of the state, to Cardinal Tarcisio Pietro (Peter in English) Evasio Bertone was born in

Romano Canavese, in Piedmont, the current secretary of state for the Vatican, Pope Benedict XVI

appointed Camerlengo, or Chamberlain, of the Holy Roman Church April 4, 2007.

During the period known as "vacant", when there is no sitting pope, Bertone will be called as

Camerlengo to serve as the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

He will be in office until the College of Cardinals present at the next papal conclave in the Sistine

Chapel to select a new pope.

The Third Secret of Fatima

Horn suspected Cardinal Bertone is the center of a Vatican cover-up to prevent the release of the full

version of what is known as the controversial "Third Secret of Fatima," supposedly given by the

Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in Fatima , Portugal, July 13, 1917.

Bertone, who turned 78 in December, has had a long history with Cardinal Ratzinger before he

 became Pope Benedict XVI.

From 1995 to 2002, he worked with Ratzinger Bertone as his No. 2 at the Congregation for the

Doctrine of the Faith influential in the Vatican.

A few months after being elected pope, Benedict XVI asked Bertone to take up the post of secretary

of state, the position of Bertone holds to this day.

In January 2010, when Bertone has reached 75, the retirement age for Curia cardinals, submitted a

letter of resignation to the pope. Benedict was adamant he needed to stay in the Vatican Bertone as

head of state, because he wanted to keep "their precious collaboration", as reported by Andrea

Tornielli in the Italian newspaper

Benedict has firmly supported Bertone through a series of crises that have called into question the

integrity and honesty of Bertone, including money laundering scandal involving the Vatican Bank,

formerly known as the Institute for Works of Religion or IOR . The scandal resulted in the sacking of

the head of the bank, Gotti Tedeschi, Italian economist and banker of all respect, as well as Paolo

Gabriele, the pope's butler, who was prosecuted for the confiscation and copying more than 1,000

pages of confidential documents of the Vatican more than six years that issued to an Italian journalist

 for publication.

In their role as head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal Ratzinger and

Bertone released for the first time to the public, "The Third Secret of Fatima", at a press conference

June 26, 2000.

In 2007, Bertone has published a book, "The Last Secret of Fatima", with a preface written by

Benedict XVI, defending publicly released the text of the "Third Secret", as the whole secret, arguing

that in the published text, the Catholic Church has been holding back anything.

"The Third Secret of Fatima" End Times carries a very controversial vision of an attempted

assassination of a future pope which is caused by the moral corruption and lack of faith among the

clergy.

Pope John Paul II believed the Virgin of Fatima intervened to save his life in the assassination

attempt in St. Peter's Square in Vatican City May 13, 1981, anniversary of the first apparition of Our

Lady to the three children of Fatima.

The current controversy began when the Italian journalist and television personality Anthony Socci

and American attorney Christopher Ferrara began the publication of the application, the Vatican had

refused to publish a second part of the "Third Secret", which contained the words of the Virgin as

revealed the children of Fatima.

Socci and Ferrara contend hidden text predicts disaster for the Catholic Church and the world that

involve End Days punishment from God, that leads to Jesus Christ return to earth for the day of

judgment.

Predictions of Malachy

St. Malachy, an Irish saint and the Archbishop of Armagh, who lived from 1094 to 1l48, is attributed

with a vision of the last 112 popes from which he created a list prophetic. Called with a descriptive

epithet every pope in succession from Celestine II, who was pope from 1143-1144, until today.

Malachy described the last pope as "Petrus Romanus", or "Peter the Roman", writing: "In the final

persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock

amid many tribulations; after which the seven -hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge

 will judge the people. "

In 1880, MJ O'Brien, a Catholic priest, has published a book in Dublin offering a "critical and

historical account" of the prophecy of St. Malachy regarding the succession of popes.

O'Brien understood that the prophecy of Malachi declared that the kingdom of the pope identified as

Petrus Romanus the end of the world would come, culminating in Jesus Christ coming down to earth

for the day of judgment.

O'Brien said that there was the vision of Malachi, while he was in Rome for a month, visiting and

praying in many historical sites and saints of the Eternal City.

"The view of the ruins of pagan Rome, the tombs of the Apostles, the thought of so many thousands

of martyrs, the presence of [Pope] Innocent II, who had been forced to wander for so many years in

France and elsewhere because of the anti-pope Anacleto - all this, I say, filled the mind of St.

Malachy, with shades of deep, sad and was forced to cry out in the words of the ancient prophets:

'Usquequo, Domine not misereberis Sion?' - '! How long, Lord, wilt thou not have mercy on Zion?' "

O'Brien continued:

And God said, "Until the End of the World, the Church will be militant and triumphant Until the end

of time the sufferings of my passion and the mysteries of my cross must continue on the ground, and

I will be with you until the. End of the world . "And then it was unfolded before the eyes of the holy

bishop of Armagh the long series of famous pilots who were to lead the bark of Peter in the storm

 until the end.

Malachy gave his manuscript to Innocent II, Gregorio Papareschi born, who was pope from 1130 to

1143. Innocent placed the manuscript in the Vatican archives, where it has remained unknown until

 its discovery in 1590.

Through the last 900 years, several critics have questioned the authenticity and accuracy of the

prophecy of St. Malachy, often supporting the methods used by some interpreters of his epithets

Malachy applying to certain popes have been tortuous.

In a modern version of the 1969 prophecies of Malachi, Archbishop Cardinal, the Apostolic Nuncio

to Belgium and Luxembourg, wrote: "it is fair to say that the vast majority of the predictions of

Malachi on successive Popes is amazingly accurate - always remembering that he gives only a

minimum of information. "
