the great mosque Vakil: This is a beautiful sanctuary located in that of Shiraz, Iran's aud, located to the west of the Vakil Bazaar, next to its entry. This mosque was built between 1751 and 1773, when in command of Iran was the Zand dynasty. It was later restored in the middle of the 19th century, when the Qajar dynasty was to reign. You'll be interested to know that Vakil means regent, which was the title used by Karim Khan, the founder, in fact, the Zand dynasty. Shiraz was the seat of government of Khan.
